Lockheed to Collaborate in India for Indian Army's Future Infantry Combat Vehicle

Lockheed Martin is in talks with Indian industry to develop a platform to meet India's requirement for a Future Infantry Combat Vehicle (FICV).

A spokesperson told IHS Jane's on 24 March that discussions about Lockheed Martin's involvement in the project were at a preliminary stage, but did not elaborate.

Lockheed Martin's Indian partner in the programme was not disclosed, although earlier press reports indicated that the company had entered into a collaborative agreement with the Tata Group.

Lockheed Martin has close ties with the Indian conglomerate after forming a joint venture with subsidiary Tata Advanced Systems Limited in 2011 to manufacture aerostructures for C-130 Hercules transport aircraft in India.
